*As specified in the GSA admission guidelines, applicants must 1) have completed 16 years of schooling, 2) hold an undergraduate degree to enroll in a Master’s program and a Master’s degree to enroll in a doctoral program, and 3) have adequate proficiency in both written and oral English communication.

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Long-Term Training Courses

Number of recipient/ Year

A few students per year / Usually, start from Research Student(non-degree) before going to Master’s or PhD course.

Duration

2 years for a Master’s degree, or 2.5 years if starting as a Research Student.
3 years for a PhD, or 3.5 years if starting as a Research Student.

Name of program: Producing human resources in agricultural science to tackle the global challenges of food and environment
Number of recipient/ year 3 for Master’s and 5 for Doctoral students/ year
Duration 2 years for Master’s and 3 years for Doctoral program
Stipends Allowance: 144,000JPY/ month (Master), 145,000JPY/ month (Doctor)
Traveling Expenses: One round trip from and to home country
Education fees: Examination, admission, and tuition fees are exempted
Must check points for eligibility of this scholarship 1.  Its priority allocations are the following regions: ASEAN and Africa  2.  Under 35 years old   3. Hold GPA 2.3 out of 3.0 or higher   4.  TOEFL-iBT 70 (IELTS 5.5) or higher
