KUGSA–UF–JIRCAS Joint Symposium “Food Systems and the Global South”
We are pleased to announce the KUGSA–UF–JIRCAS Joint Symposium, titled “Food Systems and the Global South.”
This symposium is supported by the Kyoto University SPRING Fellowship and aims to foster the next generation of researchers while strengthening international collaboration.
As Kyoto University places increasing emphasis on the Global South within its international strategy, the Graduate School of Agriculture is promoting research and educational exchange with the University of Florida’s Global Food Systems Institute (UF-GFSI) as a key pillar of its global engagement. Discussions are currently underway to establish a formal cooperative framework.
The symposium will feature invited experts from JIRCAS, which has long contributed to agricultural research and development in the Global South, and from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), organizer of the global Food Systems Summit series.
This event will provide participants with an opportunity to explore the concept of food systems and consider its relevance across diverse fields within agricultural science.
